The City of Portland announced a new Microenterprise grant program to aid existing and new businesses that have been or continue to be impacted by the pandemic. The grant will provide up to $7,500 in funds for rent, payroll, equipment, insurance, inventory, and other working capital needs.

To be eligible:

• The business or nonprofit must be based in Portland;
• The business must have 7 or fewer employees (including the owner); and
• The business owner must be low/moderate income.

Businesses that have previously received Microenterprise or Rapid Response grants from the City can still apply for these additional funds. For more information or to apply, visit portlandmaine.gov/252/Microenterprise-Grant.
